Cocktails in the City - Mansfield Traquair Church

Image
Last Thursday Cocktails in the City was held at Mansfield Traquair Church on Mansfield Road. Lots of cocktail bars around Edinburgh set up mini bars around the church for you to sample one of their cocktails from their menu. Edinburgh bars taking part in the event included Harvey Nichols 4th Floor, Panda & Sons and 56 North.                                                                                                      I had never been inside the church before the event and it was absolutely beautiful inside. It was such a unique place to host an event in.  The event cost £10 which included your entrance fee in to the event, a poker chip that entitled you to one cocktail from one of the stalls and a free makeover from the Armani staff at Harvery Nichols. The staff from Electric Hair Salon in Harvey Nichols were also there doing people's hair.

Oktoberfest, Princes Street Gardens

Image
One evening a couple of weeks ago I headed along to Princes Street Gardens to an Oktoberfest event that was taking place in marquees in the gardens.   The marquee was filled with rows of tables and benches with people sitting drinking beers and eating traditional German food. At the bottom of the tent a German band were playing dressed in full lederhosen's which added to the great atmosphere!                                                                                                                                                         My beer of choice was a 'Radler' which is a light beer with lemonade. I'm not much of a beer drinker but I found out about a Radler in Munich over the summer. After the German band had finished a DJ came on the stage and played some great sing along tracks which had everyone up standing on the benches singing and dancing until the end of the night.
