Edinburgh Fringe Festival
If anyone is thinking of visiting Edinburgh, August in my opinion would be the best time. Apart from the fact August is in the summer months, which means Scotland is more likely to get some sunshine, The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is on throughout the whole of August. There are hundreds of shows to go and see in venues all around Edinburgh from comedy shows to plays, there is something for everyone.
Myself and my friend went to The Three Sisters or 'The Free Sisters' as it is known over the festival to see some free comedy shows. There are loads of free comedy shows going on in different venues throughout the city. The Free Sisters have created different venues in their grounds and buildings to showcase comedy shows in. They even have a yurt and an old bus in their courtyard that hosts comedy shows everyday.
During The Edinburgh Festival at Bristo Square, George Square and The Pleasance there are outdoor bars where you can sit and have a drink while you are waiting for your show to begin or simply just enjoy the festival atmosphere whilst having a few drinks. Me and my family went to see Josh Widdicombe, who I would highly recommend as he was hilarious! Before the show we went for a drink at the bar area at George Square. There is artificial grass over the whole area for people to sit down on as well as picnic tables and other seating areas available.

Another comedian I would recommend is Ivo Graham who is playing at The Pleasance. He has probably been my favourite comedian I have seen during the festival and is only £9 for student tickets. Go check him out!
If you are living near Edinburgh you should definitely visit the city to explore the many things The Fringe has to offer!
