The Cowshed, Cowgate
Taking advantage of all the free shows at The Fringe Festival I found myself being persuaded to attend one in a venue on the Cowgate whilst on my way with friends to a pub. The show itself was not great, the downside to some free shows, but it did mean I found out about a venue beside it that had turned itself into a barn.
Inside the 'barn' were hay bales and tractor tyres to use as seating as well as wooden tables to rest your drinks on. There were different country bands playing on a stage through out the evening which were perfect to listen to as back ground music or there was an area in front of the stage for people to stand and watch the bands also. The Cowshed was such a good change from a regular bar or pub and it is somewhere I could see still being popular after the festival finishes. I am a massive fan of live music so I love anywhere you can go and see some, be it at a concert or just sitting in a bar. This is a great place to try for somewhere different to go for a drink.
