Asian Adventures - Sukhothai, Thailand
Arriving in Sukhothai it is so different from Bangkok! So much quieter and buildings are a lot more sparse. When we arrived at the bus station there were no taxis in sight. A women came rushing over from a Tuk Tuk and said she could take us to our guesthouse. She charged 400 Baht for a 10/15 minute drive which was probably a rip off but it was the only 'taxi' around and it gave us our first experience in a Tuk Tuk which was fun. Our guesthouse was a lot different from our hotel in Bangkok and we weren't quite sure what we had signed up for. When we arrived at reception there was no one there for a good 10 minutes which was very strange. We went for a wander round the downstairs looking for someone and calling out for someone but no luck. Just as we were getting ready to call their contact number a women rocked up on her mop'ed and checked us in.
